Cloning and Spot Removal

Photography nowadays is happening to be one of the most important part of everyone's life. Everybody wants to store there precious moments in life so that they could cherish them in future. DSLR Cameras becoming more and more famous, increasing quality of photos , makes the age marks like wrinkles, spots, moles, beauty mark, etc. clearly visible in the photos which surely does not looks nice.

Spot removal tool is very useful for making localized spot correction and cloning fixes. It can used for many things like lens spots and blemishes. To use the Spot removal tool you can follow these steps:

1. Open the file you want to remove spots from, by going to File > Open > select the File.

2. Choose the spot removal tool from the tool bar. This will open a panel and the cursor will change to crosshair.

3. Now you can choose heal option from the drop down menu. It basically replaces the spot area by another selected area (it uses only lighting and shading whereas clone brush completely clones the area). Its important to use feathering so that the edges does not looks sharp and so that edges can blend in.

4. Now you have to select the spot. Select in such a way that it completely covers the spot, my advice is to select a larger area than spot.

5. You will get two circles, drag either of them and place to a nice area which you want to choose as a replacement of spot. (Choose an area not so far from spot, this will maintain the texture)

6. You can now play with the circle resizing it or moving it to some better place, repeat the above steps to remove other spots.

Removing wrinkles using adobe photoshop

Hi Friends,
This is a working tutorial on how to remove wrinkles from a photo and also to smoothen it using Adobe Photoshop. I am taking this image to work on!

Software required- Adobe Photoshop

Step - 1

Open Photoshop and go to File > open > select the file you want to edit and click ok.

Step - 2
Select Healing brush tool from the toolbar on the right hand side of your workspace

Step - 3 
Now you have to select a smooth region, by pressing Alt+Click. Once it is selected you have to paint your way on the wrinkles. And after completely painting the wrinkles you may get something like -

NOTE: you may remove more wrinkles if you want but it is not really needed to remove light wrinkles as it can be removed while smoothing the skin.

Step - 4
See in the bottom right of the screen there is a layer panel. And your layer is named as background. Now, Right click on the background layer and select 'duplicate layer', a pop up screen will come, the press 'ok'. You will get a new layer named background copy. Now select that layer and goto Filter > Blur > Gaussian blur and adjust the marker in such a way that u can see eyes, nose and mouth barely. Press OK when you are satisfied.

Step - 5
Then go back to your layer panel and look for add layer mask button at the very bottom of the panel. Now press add layer mask while holding Alt button. Now on your left side tool bar make sure that you have black as your background colour and white as your foreground colour. Now select brush tool from the left side toolbar and set opacity around 35%. You may increase it if you want for some places. You will get use to it after some efforts.

Step - 6
Now start painting over the face leaving some parts like eyes, eyebrows, mouth and some corner parts under the nose. Leave it when you are satisfied.
